35 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, two deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 35 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Friday, April 15, bringing the infection total to 129,203 and total deaths to 2,926.
The new cases comprise 23 females and 12 males, with ages ranging from four months to 63 years.
The cases were recorded in St James (11), Kingston and St Andrew (seven), St Ann and St Catherine (four each), Westmoreland and Clarendon (three each), Trelawny (one), St Elizabeth (one) and Hanover (one).
The deceased are two 73-year-old males from St James, who died on September 2 and September 19, 2021.
There were 90 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 82,455.
Currently, nine people are hospitalised, one of whom is critically ill.
The Health Ministry reported a positivity rate of 5.2 per cent.
