68 new COVID-19 cases in Jamaica, four deaths reported
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 68 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths on Thursday, April 21, bringing the infection total to 129,441 and total deaths to 2,941.
The new cases comprise 38 females and 30 males, with ages ranging from seven days to 90 years.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (19), St Ann (17), St James (16), Westmoreland (six), Clarendon (three), Hanover (three), Manchester (two) and St Catherine (two).
The deceased comprise four females ages 60, 62, 49 and 77 from St Catherine who died between April and October 2021.
There were 80 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 82,875.
Currently, 20 people are hospitalised, five of whom are moderately ill while one is critically ill.
The Health Ministry reported a positivity rate of 7.7 per cent.
