WATCH: Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Lalor gets warm welcome home after winning UN pageant
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Newly-crowned Miss United Nations World, Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Lalor received a warm welcome on her return to the island Saturday.
Lalor, also known as Jamaica’s Farm Queen, won the Miss United Nations pageant last Saturday in New Delhi, India.
On Saturday, she was welcomed home by family and friends as well as the Minister of Agriculture, Pearnel Charles Jr and representatives from corporate Jamaica
The purpose of the Miss United Nations pageant is to provide men and women the opportunity to come together regardless of their background and to build relationships with those who are working attentively to leave a positive impact in their communities.
In response to being crowned Miss United Nations, Lalor said: “As I embark on this magnificent journey as Miss United Nations World 2022, I am grateful for the trust that the noble organisation has reposed in me. I am further reminded of the people who helped me along the way to realise my dreams, a very big thank you.
“This journey is a continuation of the work I started on my beautiful island of Jamaica. I look forward to expanding my philanthropic work to various territories across the world and aiding in the very important development drive. I am ready to work, Toni-Ann Lalor equipped, ready and reporting for duty,” she said.
