Corinaldi Avenue and Flankers favoured in St James U-13 semis
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Unbeaten Corinaldi Avenue Primary and Flankers Primary will start as favourites to win today’s semi-final matches of the St James Football Association’s Under 13 to be played at Corinaldi Avenue Primary, starting at 10:00 am.
The final four won their quarter-final games last week, and, today’s winners will advance to the finals set for later this week.
Corinaldi Avenue are unbeaten all season, winning all four games in the first round and the quarter-final game. They are yet to concede a goal while scoring 48.
Carlando Morris and Mekhi Foster have combined to score 26 goals so far and Barracks Road will have their hands full in trying to contain them.
Barracks Road lost just once, their final group game after they had won the zone and rebounded with a hard-fought 1-0 win over defending champions Granville Primary in the quarter-finals last week.
Ronaldinho Richards leads Barracks Road with five goals while Shavar Blake has scored four.
The first game, Flankers Primary vs Chetwood Primary, could come down to who makes the most mistakes as both teams look to be evenly matched.
Flankers got the better of Howard Cooke Primary with 2-0 in their quarterfinal game, while Chetwood were 5-0 winners over Catherine Hall Primary.
Gregory Williams led the Flankers Primary scoring with seven goals but was kept off the score sheet last week while Michael Fogah has been consistent through the competition so far for Chetwood.
