The official opening of 2022 Kingston Biennial took place Sunday last at the National Gallery of Jamaica to a full house. The first staging since 2017, the exhibition will form a part of the observances for our Jamaica 60 celebrations.
Curated by Professor David Scott, Nicole Smythe-Johnson, Wayne Modest, and O’Neil Lawrence, this year’s theme is ‘Pressure’, and it showcases work from 24 Jamaican-born or of-Jamaican-heritage artists. The Kingston Biennial runs until December 31, 2022.
Plus, we share a few snapshots from the fourth staging of the Jamaica Rum Festival, presented by Appleton, held a week ago at the Aqueduct, Rose Hall, in the second city, Montego Bay.
It’s the weekend, Page 2 shares the scenes.
