#World Champs: Fraser-Pryce leads Jamaican 1-2-3 finish in 100m Final
EUGENE, Oregon- After dominating the rounds of the women’s 100 metres, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shericka Jackson have produced a historic clean sweep in the final of the event at the Oregon World Championships.
Fraser-Pryce produced a championship record and equalled her season’s best time of 10.67 seconds to win the final of the event. Fraser-Pryce has now become the first Jamaican woman to be a part of a clean sweep of the women’s 100 metres on three different occasions. She did so at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, the Tokyo Summer Games last year and at this year’s staging of the Oregon World Championships.
The reigning 100 metres champion Fraser-Pryce, will be joined on the podium with her compatriots Shericka Jackson, who clocked a personal best of 10.73 seconds to secure the silver medal and Elaine Thompson-Herah (10.81), who captured the bronze medal.
