Police High Command condemns recent killing of constable
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The Police High Command is condemning the brutal murder of a police constable in the Johnson Pen community in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Tuesday, July 19.
He has been identified as 31-year-old Jermaine Brown who was assigned to the Spanish Town Police Station.
Brown reportedly went to the community in his private motor car about 4:50 pm on Tuesday afternoon when gunmen attacked him and shot him several times.
He died on the spot.
The High Command expressed sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the slain constable. The Force says it continues to mourn the loss of a colleague and is committed to conducting a thorough and detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his murder.
“The Police will not be deterred by this latest attack and will continue to work assiduously and continue our focus on ridding communities of guns, gunmen and gangs who cause death, pain and mayhem,” the High Command said.

The Force’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to the family members, friends and colleagues of Constable Brown.
