Another victim succumbs following two-bus collision in St Ann
ST ANN, Jamaica — Another person has succumbed to injuries following Sunday’s two-bus collision on the Salem Main road in St Ann.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
Chief Executive Office of the St Ann’s Bay regional hospital, Dennis Morgan, said the victim, a 20-year-old female, passed away on Thursday morning. The deceased was among six critical people admitted to the hospital.

“I just want to pause and extend condolences to the family of the deceased, we have transferred five persons, four to the Kingston area Hospital and one to the Cornwall Regional Hospital. Eighteen people are still hospitalised in our facility all will require some amount of surgery”, he said as he appealed to residents who can donate blood to do so.
“We also use this opportunity to make an appeal for blood. We do need blood at our facility because the nature of their illnesses require more than the normal use of blood so we are making an appeal to the public to come to the facility or go to the nearest blood collection site and donate. They can donate in the name of a particular patient or just in general”, he added.
This is the third victim to succumb to injuries sustained in the deadly accident. Thirty-eight-year-old Kermit Grant of Aboukir, Alexandria and 56-year-old Elizabeth Palmer of Mount Pleasant had earlier succumbed to their injuries.
According to reports, Grant, who was behind the wheels of a 15-seater Hiace minibus collided head-on with a 30-seater coaster at approximately 8:30 am on Sunday. Palmer was a passenger in Grant’s vehicle.

Grant and Palmer died at hospital while over 14 others were admitted in serious condition.
