Police investigators have been trying to confirm the identities of two decomposing bodies that were found in bushes on Thursday in an area of Spanish Town, St Catherine, called Canal Banks, behind the motor vehicle examination depot.

Even as cops carry out their investigations, relatives of a man who went missing on Saturday strongly believe that one of the bodies found is that of their missing family member. They gave his name as Garrie Myers. They also claimed to know the other deceased and referred to him only by the alias ‘Maestro’.

A sister of Myers explained that the body they believe to be his was clad in clothing that matched what he had been wearing when he was last seen. She said that the body was found with a cast on one of the arms. Up to the time he went missing, Myers had been wearing a cast on one of his arms after the limb broke when he was shot around two months ago in Gregory Park, St Catherine.

Though she cannot help but grieve the loss of a sibling, the sister claimed that Myers and Maestro were no saints.

“Di last time we see him was Friday. Him live a Fairfield Road but him come a Red Pond every day just to look fi we. Him come Friday, but Saturday we never see him. Sunday evening, him girlfriend come and seh somebody did call him and she nuh see him back.

“We a call him phone and a straight voicemail. He was last seen online on WhatsApp after 2:00 pm on Saturday. The babymother said around dem time deh di youth come call him. He was reported missing on Monday. Mi naa go seh him perfect or him innocent, but he was a good guy. Dem always a seh him a do things. Me naa go seh him nuh do it, but him cool otherwise. The other dead man, I know his nickname. Dem call him Maestro. Him come from Taylor Road. Mi know him, but mi nuh know nuff things bout him other than seh a him and mi bredda par.”
