Patricia Bowen winning souls

SEEKING to reach a global audience through ministering, in 2017 Patricia Bowen started an online Old School Gospel Session on Sunday afternoons.

The service and ministering is streamed via Facebook, where Bowen delivers traditional gospel favourites in her high-energy style, while playing the keyboards.

“I’ve been doing this five years now and it has been a blessing. I’ve reached people all over the world, to God be the praise,” Bowen told the Jamaica Observer.

“This platform is such a wonderful blessing. Every Sunday I minister to people worldwide through music via the Internet. The show is entertaining and interactive, the fans send in their requests and I sing their favourite gospel songs for them right there on the spot,” she continued.

According to Bowen, the number of people who tune in via Facebook has been encouraging.

“We have had a maximum of 5,000 persons viewing us live. That’s the highest number that we have reached, to date,” she said.

With the demand from viewers for copies of her sessions, Bowen is gearing up to release two albums, He Made a Way Ohh and Battle with the Lord in October.

“I’m looking forward to the release of these two albums. He Made a Way Ohh features some of the songs that my fans always request on the show, including Holy Ghost Party, Running For My Life, Move Satan Move, Hosanna, Somebody Prayed and Please Let Me Walk With You Jesus. Battle with The Lord features a mixture of gospel/reggae songs and worship songs such as The Remix featuring Papa San, Awesome God A God, Heart Like Yours, I Fear No Evil, Adoni, Grace Is Thy Faithfulness, and Be With Me Jesus,” said Bowen.

She continued, “I know some people might be wondering why I am releasing two albums simultaneously, but I am a woman of faith and I do what God tells me to do. He has blessed me with the talent to sing and praise his name and I must do his work. As Psalm 22:3 tells us, God inhabits the praises of His people.”

The album will feature production work from producers such as Papy Nsenga, Craig McDonald and Mario Lawrence.

Bowen, who hails from Hallman Hill in Above Rocks in St Catherine, has been a practising Christian since the age of eight. She currently resides in North Carolina.
