London-based Platoon, a record label owned by Apple Music, has kicked off gospel heritage month with the release of the various artistes compilation Gospel Heritage.

The collection showcases the Jamaican gospel act as the sole Caribbean artiste alongside the likes of international gospel acts Sinach, Tim Godfrey, Bishop John Francis, Becca Folkes, Sarah Teibo, Volney Morgan, Lurine Cato, Juanita Francis, Sharyn and Isaiah Raymond

Franklyn contributes the song Testify, a newly recorded gospel reggae, praise and worship song which has been sung by several artistes. She shared how her involvement in the project came about.

“My manager received a call from Bishop John Francis of Ruach Ministries in the United Kingdom, who is also a son of the soil, telling him about this project and that I needed to be a part of it. He recommended me to the Executive producer of the project and that’s how the project came about. The timing was right, I had the perfect song for the project and meeting the team at Platoon, London UK, Apple Music’s Record label felt so right,” said Franklyn.

Franklyn says listeners can look forward to Testify as it will give them hope and new strength to keep on believing that change will come and create an atmosphere of joy that God will turn things around.

Said Franklyn, “The album is a compilation with various ministers from around the world, once you hear “Testify” you will know I am from the Islands.”

Both the single Testify, and the album Gospel Heritage will be released on September 2 via all streaming platforms.

Platoon has worked with several top acts over the years including Jorja Smith, Billie Eilish (as distributor), Rex OC, Stefflon Don, and YEBBA. More recently the company has inked deals with artists such as Victoria Monét, Holly Humberstone, and Sagun.
