Jamaica reports 83 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported 83 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, September 2, bringing the infection total to 150,101.
The new cases comprise 42 females and 41 males, with ages ranging from seven months to 92 years.
No new deaths were reported.
The cases were recorded in Kingston and St Andrew (25), St Catherine (14), St James, St Elizabeth and Trelawny (two), Manchester (12), St Thomas (one), Clarendon (five), St Ann (six), St Mary and Portland (four), Hanover and Westmoreland (three).
There were 102 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 96,926.
Currently, 126 people are hospitalised, 39 of whom are moderately ill, four severely ill and six in critical condition.
Jamaica’s positivity rate for the latest round of testing is 19.4 per cent.
