Facebook creators can earn money with licensed music
Expanding music revenue sharing on Facebook allows video creators to monetise their videos that use licensed music. This gives creators and music rights holders a new way to earn money from videos on Facebook.
With music revenue sharing, whenever a creator uses licensed music in their videos on Facebook that are 60 seconds or longer they can earn money on specific videos through in-stream ads, with a share of revenue going back to the music rights holders.
With video-making up over half of the time spent on Facebook, music revenue sharing helps creators access more popular music, deepening relationships with their fans and the music industry. This feature is the first of its kind at this scale, benefiting creators, partners, music rights holders, and fans.
