The three-race day Heroes’ Weekend carnival of racing is highlighted with two trophy races on Sunday (October 16) with the main attraction being the $1.14-million Errol “Big Sub” Subratie Memorial Trophy.

A field of 10 runners is down to compete at a mile (1,600m) with eyes surrounding Crimson, Hover Craft, and Oneofakind.

The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at each runner and their chances of winning in order of their post-positions.

1. BIG BIG DADDY: (5 dkb h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Did exceptionally well to finishing third by five lengths on September 24 over 10 furlongs, behind Calculus and I Am Fred. With that effort under his girth, Big Big Daddy will take a hand in the outcome of this race.

2. CRIMSON: (6 b g by Nuclear Wayne – Sarah Barracuda) – Capable runner who seems to have lost his shadow. Crimson returns from a break of 134 days and may need a run to get his engine going again. Good for a place on the board.

3. AWESOME TREASURE (USA): (5 b m by Awesome of Course – Bossy Gal) – Cannot be recommended for a winning run based on current form.

4. SIR JOHN: (4 b g by Natural Selection – Luscious) – Cannot win this one.

5. HOVER CRAFT: (12 b g by He’stherealthing – Royal Pizzaz) – Finished fourth in the Menudo Trophy over 10 furlongs (2,000m) on September 24. Hover Craft takes a drop in class and could give the favourite most to do. Hover Craft has to be closer to the pace if he is to be a serious contender.

6. MARQUESAS: (7 b h by Coded Warning – Islamorada) – Ran well to finish second behind Calculus over nine plus on September 11. Marquesas is expected to continue with another good effort but not a winning one.

7. RAS EMANUEL: (10 b h by Burning Marque – Pleasant Princess) – Consistent sort who finished off the board in the recent Vassell “Jolly Man” Najair Memorial Trophy over 5 ½ furlongs. With the distance increased as well as the competition, Ras Emanuel can only hope for a minor placing.

8. BEST DAUGHTER EVER (USA): (5 gr f by He’s Had Enough – Family First) – Capable runner who should once again go home earning.

9. ONEOFAKIND: (5 ch h by Fearless Vision – The Golden One) – Came off a six-month break and finished second behind the talented Runaway Algo over 7 ½ furlongs on September 25. Oneofakind is much better than these, and with that first run out of the way should be unsaddled in the winners’ enclosure when this race is over.

10. BERN NOTICE: (4 ch c by Bern Identity – Blufield) – A winner in claiming on last who is going to find repeating a difficult task.
