Olympic Gardens suffers first loss in Winner Domino League
Olympic Gardens went down 141-150 to Maverley in their top-of-the table Group A clash in the 2022 Winners Domino Community Christmas League at Ranny’s Place, Olympic Way, on Friday. It was their first loss of the competition.
It was Olympic Gardens who started the match firing, but Maverley got into their stride late and led 76-69 at the break.
In the second half, both teams traded the lead nine times during the period. The Maverley team surged to a 10-point lead, which they maintained to the end of the match.
After trailing by 18 points in the first half of their match, the Correctional Services recovered well in the second half to record their third straight win in the league from as many starts with a 150-130 whipping of Starz.
Starz completely dominated the first half and led at the half 76-56 at Rae’s Water Store in Kingston.
In the second half Correctional Services made several changes that impacted the team positively. They racked up 16 unanswered points at one stage of the game.
