Real Mobay gets first win in Women’s Premier League
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Real MoBay FC scored their first win of the Jamaica Women’s Premier League competition on Saturday after beating Rangers FC in their cross-zone game played at Wespow Park in Tucker, St James.
Both teams are at the bottom of their respective zones and went into the game with no points, but Real MoBay used the comfort of home-field advantage to gain a slender win with a goal in each half.
There were also wins for Olympic Gardens and Vere United, both second place in their respective zones.
Olympic Gardens beat Royal Lakes 3-1 at Royal Lakes and Vere edged Baptist Alliance 2-1 at the Wembley Centre of Excellence.
At Wespow Park, the two goals conceded by Rangers FC increased their league-leading goals conceded to 41 from five games played and it was their third goal scored.
Real MoBay fared just a little better, adding to their lone goal scored while conceding their 27th goal.
Alesha McFarlane opened the scoring in the 15th minute for Real MoBay and they added a second in the 57th minute when Daniel Beckford scored.
Shavarie Less pulled one back for Rangers FC in the 87th minute but that turned out to be a consolation.
