Cavalier rally against Mt Pleasant in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Cavalier FC rallied from being two goals down in the first seven minutes to earn a 2-2 draw against leaders Mt Pleasant FA in their Jamaica Premier League return round game played at the Anthony Spaulding Complex in Kingston on Monday evening.
The St Ann-based team got off to a fast start, but Cavalier pulled a goal back in the 10th minute before getting a second in the 30th minute after they had lost to Mt Pleasant in the first round.
The point saw Mt Pleasant lead Arnett Gardens on goal-difference, both on 36 points, while Cavalier is in third place on 33 points.
In the first game of the doubleheader, Portmore United and Chapleton Maroons played out a 0-0 draw.
Trivante Stewart scored his 14th goal of the season to give Mt Pleasant the lead after just four minutes and three minutes later Ricardo Morris added a second for the St Ann club.
Cavalier got a goal back in the 10th minute thanks to Ronaldo Webster but after the frenetic start, they had to wait another 20 minutes before Dwayne Atkinson pulled Cavalier level at 2-2 in the 30th minute.
