Get on to…Nervz
Dancehall artiste Nervz says now he feels compelled to share his story with the release of his latest single, Too Far.
He has faced personal demons, heartbreaking betrayals, disappointment and incredible odds in the blind pursuit of his musical genius.
“This song is based on the experience of this musical journey. There have been many ups and downs, but I take them all as motivation. My life inspired this song,” the artiste, whose real name is Michael Atkinson, said.
Since its release, the video has reeled in over 15,000 views in four days.
“This song is getting a lot of buzz in places like Barbados, Guyana, the US, and parts of Africa; it’s a great look,” he said.
The talented youngster will be releasing a new 21-track mixtape dubbed Street College: Born Hunta Edition later this year.
He is set to depart the island on a promotional media run in the USA.
“I might go 21 tracks because of just the amount of work I have been putting in at the studio, it’s a great look,” he said.
Over the past year Nervz has built up a decent underground following for his songs such as Brawling, Chappa Fi True, Polo for Days and Banga Tone. He has also consistently released music on various digital platforms through a series of popular mixtapes.
Born in Kingston, Nervz grew up in St Catherine and ever since his days at Willowdene High in St Catherine he has always been an avid music lover.
“I am coming to make a difference in the music industry, I want to make a mark,” he said.
