14-y-o accused of stealing $100,000 worth of food items
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica – A 14-year-old boy suspected of stealing $100,000 worth of food items has been charged with housebreaking, larceny and malicious destruction of property.
Reports are that about 9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 15 in Elim district in St Elizabeth, a man locked up his house and upon his return, he realised that the front door was damaged. A closer examination revealed that several food items, with an estimated value of $100,000, were stolen.
A report was made to the police and an investigation launched.
During the investigation, the teen was arrested and formally charged on Friday, March 24 after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
He is scheduled to appear before the St Elizabeth Parish Court on Tuesday, March 28.
