Pegasus revamps pool bar, & menu

Looking to lounge poolside in New Kingston? Nicola Madden-Greig, group director of marketing & sales at the Jamaica Pegasus, suggests giving the property’s newly minted pool bar and lounge a try.

“We are thrilled to open our new pool bar and lounge, which represents a new lifestyle experience in the heart of the city,” shared Madden-Greig, Friday last at the official opening of Kingston’s latest offering. “Our guests can expect an exceptional experience, with unparalleled service and an ambiance that is welcoming,” she added. It’s no idle boast! The Pegasus pool bar has been extended four times its original size and now affords an impressive covered lounge area that comfortably seats up to 80 patrons who can kick back poolside by day or sip cocktails under twinkling lights at sunset.

The bar menu offers faves like teriyaki pork and shrimp kebabs and stuffed sweet potato tacos. There’s too, the Pegasus-BLT from the sandwich selections and the very popular curry goat and pimento jerk filet mignon.

And while the menu offerings are impressive, the sparkling 4,100 square-foot pool ups the ante of the dining/lounge experience.

Though new upgrades like the addition of a disabled accessible ramp, sun lounger deck and tanning shelf are of note, it is Tropical Pools’ mosaic artistry that steals the show. One of the major projects in their over six-month renovation was creating a significantly larger Pegasus horse logo on the pool floor. The 15-ft x 13.5-ft custom-tiled inlay is hard to miss, and makes for Instagram-worthy moments. Tag #VisitJamaicaPegasus next time you’re there! Plus, do share with Thursday Food your fave poolside bite.

The pool bar and lounge opens daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. Both the gardens and the pool bar & lounge are available for private events and functions. For more information, please visit www.jamaicapegasus.com or contact our Sales team at 876-926-3691 or reservations@jamaicapegasus.com
