WATCH: Hydel principal Small leads celebrations after historic ‘Champs’ triumph
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Hydel High Principal Dr Walton Small led the celebrations of the school’s historic girls’ athletics championships title on Monday at the institution’s compound in Ferry, St Catherine.
Hydel created history after defeating the defending champions Edwin Allen by two points to secure their first title.
On Monday, students marched on the streets to the sounds of reggae music and vuvuzelas. A special guest appearance was made by founder of the Hydel Group of Schools and University Dr Hyacinth Bennett.
Bennett’s son, Corey Bennett, is the head coach of the victorious team.
