Seana’Kaye Wright cops Miss Jamaica World Beach Beauty Fast Track title

The rain on Tuesday evening caused the Miss Jamaica World organisers to shift the execution of their Beach Beauty Fast Track competition to the Legacy Suite inside the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

Things got off to a late start, but the specially invited guests, sponsors and members of the media didn’t seem to mind.

From the 23 alluring finalists in the Miss Jamaica World pageant, to the soothing musical interludes by saxophonist Geo Sax, whose interpretations of Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Best You Ever Had by John Legend and Ne-Yo’s Sexy Love were appreciated by the audience, the evening was quite entertaining.

In the end, Seana’Kaye Wright won the Beach Beauty Fast Track title and an automatic spot in the Top 12 of the pageant, whose coronation finals will be held on November 1.

“I am elated, excited and really happy; I’m very grateful for this opportunity,” Wright told Observer Online shortly after the fast track event ended.

Wright, who wears the sash Miss Southdale Hardware and Glass Supplies, shared that her win signified a strong and healthy body.

“It’s important to keep your body strong and healthy and to just take care of yourself,” she said.

Matea Mahal Smith, who is sponsored by Aveeno, finished as first runner-up. She won the Miss Jamaica World Fast Track Fitness challenge at Emancipation Park more than a week ago.

“Wow, it feels great, and I just came out here to perform and do my best and my performance paid off. A huge congratulations to Seana’Kaye and Samantha,” Matea said.

Medical doctor Samantha McLeod, who wears the Island Smiles sash, was named 2nd runner-up. She described the Beach Beauty Fast Track competition as competitive.

“Well it was really competitive because all the contestants are phenomenal, and I knew I had to bring my A-game and just do my best and that was what radiated on the stage tonight,” said McLeod.

Shortly before the Beach Beauty Fast Track event took place, the 23 finalists were sashed by their respective sponsors.

The other fast track events scheduled before the coronation are the Fast Track Talent (Tuesday, October 20 at the Little Theatre) and Fast Track Top Model (October 28) at a venue to be announced.
