Business social – April 5

On March 28, Red Stripe hosted the official launch of its $2.2-billion Cellars Expansion for beer production (CERS) Project and its newly renovated corporate office affectionately known as Red Stripe House.

CERS marks a milestone in Red Stripe’s over 100-year history as one of its most ambitious expansion projects to date.

It was, therefore, no surprise that scores of public and private stakeholders, including keynote speaker Prime Minister Andrew Holness, gathered at Red Stripe’s Spanish Town Road brewery to celebrate the landmark moment. The Business Social has the highlights.

Minister of state in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce Dr Norman Dunn welcomes Red Stripe’s commitment to manufacturing excellence and Jamaica during his remarks at the official launch of the Cellars Expansion (CERS) Project at Red Stripe’s Spanish Town brewery on March 28.
Red Stripe Finance Director Yaniece Gentles (right) invites Red Stripe Managing Director Luis Prata (left) to present Prime Minister Andrew Holness (centre) with a beautiful painting by Jamaican artist Shawn Ashman as a token of appreciation for his participation in the official launch of the CERS project.
Red Stripe Managing Director Luis Prata (left) explains the intricacies of the CERS Project to Prime Minister Andrew Holness (right) as Red Stripe Board Chairman Peter Melhado looks on.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness leads the ribbon cutting at the newly renovated Red Stripe House building, while Opposition spokesman on industry, investment and global logistics Anthony Hylton and Red Stripe staff look on.
From left: Prime Minister Andrew Holness joins Red Stripe Managing Director Luis Prata and Red Stripe’s executive management team for a closed-door meeting prior to the official launch of the Cellars Expansion (CERS) Project on March 28.
All set for the big event! Spirits are high as members of Red Stripe’s executive management team prepare to officially launch the company’s historic Cellars Expansion (CERS) Project. From left: head of human resources, Judon Bowden; finance director, Yaniece Gentles; head of commerce, Sean Wallace; and head of corporate affairs, Dianne Ashton-Smith.
