Dumfries, St James rocked by yet another murder

ST JAMES, Jamaica — The St James police are probing the murder of a man who was found with his throat slit at his Canaan, Dumfries home in the parish Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as 25- year-old Trevaughn Stoddard of Canaan, Dumfries and Smithfield district, Westmoreland addresses.

Reports are that about 9:00pm, residents stumbled on Stoddard’s body and alerted the police. Upon their arrival, the police found Stoddard’s body at the side of his house with his throat slashed and multiple chop wounds all over his body.

No motive has been established for the killing.

Thursday night’s murder comes a day after a double murder rocked the community.

The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Andre Brown, unemployed and 24-year-old farmer, Romaine Melville.

Last month, two men were also gunned down in the community.
