Runaway Algo, I Am Fred to decide She’s A Maneater
SHE’S A Maneater, one of the best ever to grace the Caymanas Park surface, will be honoured with a race in her honour on tomorrow’s (Saturday, August 26) 10-race card.
The She’s A Maneater Trophy, a Graded Stakes/Open Allowance race for three-year-olds and up, has drawn a field of six horses, including Runaway Algo and I Am Fred, who will renew their rivalry in what is going to be an exciting contest at a mile (1,600m).
Below is the analysis of the runners and their chances of winning.
1. RUNAWAY ALGO (USA): (4 ch c by Algorithms – Misunify) – Comes into this race looking for his third-straight victory. On his most recent outing Runaway Algo won the Eros Trophy at 7 furlongs (1,400m) on July 29. On a normal canter the Dale Murphy trainee beat I Am Fred and Mahogany by 5 3/4 lengths in a time of 1:26.3. Runaway Algo should have no trouble going the extra furlong (200m) as he has three victories from six starts at this distance. If Runaway Algo is left alone on the front end, expect another easy romp.
2. SWEET MAJESTY: (5 b m by Soul Warrior – Bitter End) – Has no realistic chance of winning this one. Note that Sweet Majesty races with the visor is off.
3. OUTBIDDER: (4 b f by Savoy Stomp – Rumble) – Slowly but surely showing her true potential. Outbidder won the Lieu Chie Poo Trophy on last over this distance on August 12 in a time of 1:41.1. She is going to have to improve on that performance if she is to be competitive. Outbidder has talent, that is without a doubt, and so she should not be disgraced at the top level.
4. D HEAD CORNERSTONE: (4 b c by Bern Identity – Soul Of The Heart) – Is going to be left behind.
5. I AM FRED (USA): (5 b g by Golden Lad – Happy Hailey) – Runaway Algo four-race winning streak ended in the Eros Trophy on July 29. I Am Fred was left flat-footed at the half-mile (800m), and by the time he got going again the race was already done. I Am Fred will appreciate the extra distance and may be able to turn the tables on Runaway Algo and beat the rest of the competition.
6. MINIATURE MAN: (5 ch g by Northern Giant – Runaway Gal) – Running some good races in recent times. With the top two hard to get by, Miniature Man looks the best bet for third place.
