Bryan Levell, Delano Kennedy go pro, join Shanikie Osbourne’s coaching team

OBSERVER ONLINE has been reliably informed that former national junior sprinters Bryan Levell and Delano Kennedy have joined the professional ranks and will now be coached by Shanikie Osbourne in Kingston.

It is also understood that both former Edwin Allen High athletes have also signed shoe contracts with apparel company Puma.

Osbourne, who is a former MVP coach, coached double Olympic sprint gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah from July this year until the end of the season, which concluded last weekend with the Eugene Diamond League in Oregon in the United States.

Thompson-Herah had switched from the MVP-coached Stephen Francis club to be coached by her husband Derron last year.

Osbourne is a former coach of Papine High School.

Levell currently has personal best times of 10.21 in the 100m and 20.34 in the 200m. He finished sixth in the final of the men’s 200m event at the World Under-20 Championships in Cali, Colombia, last year.

Kennedy was a member of Jamaica’s silver medal-winning team at the World Under-20 Championships in Cali, Colombia, last year August.

He currently has personal best times of 45.27 in the 400m and 21.21 in the 200m, respectively.”
