Municipal security guard beaten, chopped in Montego Bay
ST JAMES, Jamaica— Investigators are trying to find the person and reason behind the attack on a municipal security guard on William Street in Montego Bay, St James, on Tuesday.
Information reaching Observer Online is that the 61-year-old man had to be hospitalised after he was beaten, chopped and left for dead by his attacker, who fled the area.
It was reported that around 8:00 pm, the now-injured man was walking on the roadway when he was attacked by a man who began beating him.
The man, police said, then used a machete to chop the security guard in his head and twice on his left arm. He was assisted to hospital, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
The police have since begun a high-level probe and launched a manhunt for the attacker.
