WATCH: A colourful goodbye to late revival singer Kukudoo
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A vibrant celebration of life unfolded Sunday as scores of mourners gathered at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew to bid farewell to late gospel and revival singer David “Kukudoo” McDermott.
McDermott died on May 8 after a battle with cancer. He was 52.
In a fitting farewell on Sunday, his funeral was marked by colourful traditions, spirited dancing and soul-stirring songs.
There were also glowing tributes from members of the gospel music fraternity, friends, family and government officials including Entertainment and Culture Minister Olivia Grange; State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Arlando Terrelonge; and State Minister in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Krystal Lee.
McDermott’s remains were interred at the Dovecot Memorial Park.
