Mobay’s Club S cements authentic Jamaican nightlife
ST JAMES, Jamaica – Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has joined a growing number of stakeholders in expressing delight about Club S, an authentic Reggae and Dancehall Jamaican nightclub located on the iconic Jimmy Cliff Boulevard (Hip Strip) in Montego Bay, St James.
Labelled by local and international interests as a “must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic Jamaican nightlife experience” Minister Bartlett noted that ‘the development of Club S is a very positive step for showcasing the key aspects of Jamaican inner city, urban, and rural culture that have been a cornerstone in branding Jamaica.
“It aligns with our ongoing commitment to offering unique and unforgettable experiences to all who visit our shores. Club S will add to Jamaica’s entertainment tourism, which, as everyone knows, is showing strong growth post-pandemic,” Bartlett said in a release.
The release added that Club S embodies the character, colour, and originality of Jamaica, drawing inspiration from the iconic Passa Passa weekly dance in Kingston and various reggae festivals, including the world-renowned Reggae Sumfest.
The unique features of the club, such as the incorporation of Passa Passa and Reggae Sumfest themes, the Jamaican inner-city bar, a jerk-chicken man, a corner shop and bar, artistic depictions and sculptures of a ‘rude bwoy,’ a Zion church, a traditional clothesline, rustic theming, olden days street lamps, and the presence of two dogs and chickens lounging under the jerk-chicken man’s pan, all contribute to an immersive and authentic experience.
A growing number of local and international visitors have reportedly commended the vision and creativity behind Club S, as it not only adds to the diversity of entertainment offerings in Jamaica but also provides a platform to showcase the rich cultural tapestry of the island.
Club S is associated with the S Hotel, at a global number of 16 on the prestigious Conde Nast 2023 Best Hotels in the World Readers’ Choice Awards and also the number one Hotel in the Caribbean and Central America on the same list.
