Rainsville continues to show improvement
The Richard Azan-conditioned Rainsville continued to show vast improvement when he came from behind runners to win the $3-million Chairman’s Plate on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
Rainsville (Casual Trick – Fiftyshadesofray), ridden by Tevin Foster, won the Overnight Allowance contest over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) by a neck. Rainsville won in a time of 1:58.0 (27.1 x 51.3 x 1:16.0 x 1:42.4).
The Jamaica Observer‘s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the outcome of the race.
FIRST – RAINSVILLE: Rainsville‘s connections must be proud of his accomplishments here. This is his fourth triumph in 16 races this year, with the Chairman’s Plate being his most significant success. Tevin Foster, the winning jockey, deserves credit for his well-executed ride. Rainsville is currently in the Open Allowance, where victories will be hard-earned.
SECOND – NEO STAR: Came into this race after winning four consecutive races. Neo Star was the surprise of the Chairman’s Plate with a gritty performance. Neo Star, who was running at this level for the very first time, showed resilience which should lay a solid foundation for future success.
THIRD – D HEAD CORNERSTONE: Did well to finish in third place. D Head Cornerstone‘s time will sure come.
FOURTH – SISTREN TREASURE (USA): Continues to disappoint.
FIFTH – FURTHER AND BEYOND: Not the horse he once was last year. Perhaps retirement is his best option at the moment.
SIXTH – ATLANTIC CONVOY (CAN): Was never a winning factor.
SEVENTH – MINIATURE MAN: Came into the race as the favourite to win, but never land a blow. A very disappointed effort.
EIGHTH – TEKAPUNT: Will find easier opportunities.
NINTH – SONNY T AND CHIPPY: Will benefit from this.
TENTH – BABYLIKE: Was out of her depth here.
ELEVENTH – SUNSET SILHOUTTE: Ran as accordingly.
