Arnett, Tivoli register 2-1 wins in Wray and Nephew JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Arnett Gardens moved up to fourth place in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League after scoring a 2-1 win over Harbour View in their second round game played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday.
Clarendon College schoolboy Kaheim Dixon scored the winner as Arnett Gardens moved to 33 points, two behind leaders Mt Pleasant FA and one behind joint second placed teams Portmore United and Cavalier SC.
All three goals in the game came in the final 23 minutes plus time added.
Jamone Shepherd scored the opening goal in the 77th minute to give Arnett Gardens the lead before Dixon added a second in the 80th minute.
Andre Fagan scored in the fifth minute of time added for Harbour View but they did not have enough time to get the equaliser.
In the first game of the double-header, Tivoli Gardens beat Vere United 2-1 and are now in fifth place on 31 points, thanks to a double from Horatio Morgan in the second half.
Morgan scored in the 60th and 65th minutes before an own goal from Shaquille Jones in the 78th minute gave Vere United hope.
