JLP candidate, businessman make peace following altercation
ST THOMAS, Jamaica— Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for Trinityville Division in St Thomas, Dean Jones and businessman Wayne ‘Rygin’ Walker, seem to have made peace following last week’s altercation at a premises opposite the construction site of the new Morant Bay Urban Centre.
Jones and Walker were seen shaking hands at a location in the vicinity of the Goodyear Multi-purpose Stadium in St Thomas on Sunday.
It is reported that neither of the men pressed charges.
Last week, the St Thomas police reportedly launched an investigation into the physical altercation between a Jones and Walker, who was clad in an orange shirt.
In a one-minute footage obtained by Observer Online, Walker could be seen approaching the vehicle with Jones, who was accompanied by a female. Walker spoke briefly with Jones before things quickly escalated.
The video captured Jones, who was wearing a green shirt, emerging from the vehicle and then becoming engaged in a tussle with the man in orange.
The situation was then defused as others tussled with Walker before another individual whisked him away.
It is unclear what caused the scuffle.
