Cardi B drops new single ahead of sophomore album’s release
Her animated and vibrant personality shone throughout the duration of our Zoom interview on Wednesday night. And deservingly so, American rapper Cardi B is quite upbeat about her new single Enough (Miami) which was released Friday.
“I took a little break and I came back on social media. Then dropped a freestyle (Like What) to wet my feet. So I’m dropping this new single and afterwards, I will drop a new album around summertime,” Cardi B shared with Observer Online.
The Bodak Yellow rapper, who is from The Bronx, is of Caribbean heritage. Her father is Dominican while her mother is Trinidadian.
“It has been almost six years since my last album, and I’m putting out this single and I hope you guys like it,” Cardi B affirmed.
Enough (Miami) is accompanied by an eye-popping visual directed by Patience Harding. The video was also released today.
The song sees Cardi B spitting lyrics at rapid-fire pace with venomous lyrics. An out-of-the-box club banger, Enough (Miami) is just what the doctor ordered for your dance floor shaker.
“I like to make club bangers,” said Cardi B. “I like the energy, the fun, and making people move. I’m used to doing fun records and hearing my music breaking out in the strip clubs. That’s how I came into the game.”
With five #1 Billboard Hot 100 hits to her credit, including WAP (with Megan Thee Stallion), Girls Like You (with Maroon 5), I Like It (with Bad Bunny and J Balvin) and Up, Cardi B is ranked as one of the most influential female rappers of all time by Forbes Magazine.
