#Champs2024: Hydel’s Johnson, Port Antonio’s Bourne lead Class 3 girls’ 400m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hydel High’s Sashana Johnson and Port Antonio’s Kevina Bourne were the top qualifiers for Thursday’s final of the Class 3 girls’ 400m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Johnson stomped her authority to win semi-final one in 55.25. She was joined by Clarendon College’s Tresha-Lee Sutherland (57.07) and Shannaty Burke of Ferncourt High (57.57).
Eastern champion Bourne punched her ticket with 55.41. Hydel’s Trisaenia Cohen claimed the second automatic spot in 56.74. St Jago’s Alyssa Carty also advanced with 57.64.
From semi-final two, it was Tracey-Ann Evans of Holmwood Technical (55.83) and St Jago’s Shannia Campbell (57.58) who claimed the top two finishes.
The final of the girls’ 400m is scheduled for 7:26 pm.
