#Champs2024: Hydel’s Johnson tops Class 4 girls’ 100m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Teixiera Johnson of Hydel High is the fastest qualifier heading into Wednesday’s final of the Class 4 girls’ 100m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships.
Johnson stomped her class in semi-final one in 12.06 seconds. St Jago’s Chelsea-Ann Samuels took the runner-up spot in 12.58.
The fastest athlete in Class 4 this year, Rihanna Scott of Ferncourt High, safely booked her spot after winning semi-final three in 12.14. She was followed by Edwin Allen’s Makaila McDonald (12.55).
Wolmerian Mick-Kayla Gardener clocked 12.33 to take semi-final two ahead of Edwin Allen’s Tashana Godfrey (12.45).
Tanecia Richards of Holmwood Technical (12.50) and Immaculate Conception’s Abigail Brown (12.58) also advanced.
The final of the Class 4 girls’ 100m is set for 7:24 pm.
