The party event Brunch and Soca held at Police Officers’ Club in St Andrew on Friday pulled almost 1,000 patrons to the venue.

Many of Jamaica’s best soca DJs whipped up the fair-sized crowd into a frenzied display of revelry.

The crowd, a mix of hard-core soca lovers and casual listeners, enjoyed the great mix of soca songs from yesteryear and trending hits like In the Center, Soca Eden by Destra Garcia, and
Life After Fete by Kerwin Du Bois.

Patrons took time off from dancing to munch on a wide range of delectable and scrumptious dishes in-between sets.

Patrons mentioned that it was evident that a lot of thought and effort went into curating the menu offerings.

The bar staff from Barcode kept the patrons hydrated.

Powerfully built men lifted females on their shoulders and moved through the crowd while selectors, like Drillz, Selector Watty, DJ Q, Young Chow played a steady mix of soca vibes. Selectors Kryptic and Ricky Platinum played a mix of dancehall songs typical of Jamaican Carnival events.

The dance floor stayed packed for the night as patrons couldn’t resist moving to the beats like Olatunji’s steel-pan heavy Inventor, Mical Tejah’s DNA, and Nailah Blackman’s Jam of the Year.

Selectors Back 2 Basics and Tony X closed the show strongly with a high-energy set filled with the best soca songs for the season.

The ambience created by the décor team — a panoramic vision of pink and yellow — added an extra layer of excitement and elegance to the event.

Party promoter Jonell Goodluck was pleasantly surprised at how well things went for the event. He expressed pleasure that patrons had a memorable time.

He told members of the media that Brunch and Soca is already making plans for Jamaica next year.

Next stop, however, will be Dubai, April 18 to 22.
