Desert of Malibu faces Mahogany in Lady Geeta Trophy
The talented Desert of Malibu faces the well-decorated Mahogany in tomorrow’s $2.5-million Lady Geeta Trophy in what is expected to be an interesting race in the three-year-old and upward Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest over 6 furlongs.

1. A GIFT FROM BEN: (5 ch m by Here Comes Ben – Sagie’s Giftbox) – Ran a brave race in the Saint Cecelia Cup over 6 ½ furlongs on March 23, finishing third by 8 ½ lengths behind Desert of Malibu. With Desert of Malibu present along with Mahogany, the chances of A Gift From Benwinning here are very slim.
2. NEO STAR: (5 b h by Neolithic – Angel Dream) –Is going to be left behind in this one.
3. YELLOWSTONE: (5 ch g by Sensational Slam – Awry) – Good runner who is going to find it difficult getting by the top two here.
4. BIG BIG DADDY: (7 dk b h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Can be safely bypassed.
5. MAHOGANY: (7 ch g by Sensational Slam – Mete-Orite) – Returns to competitive racing from a 133-day break.
Mahogany last competed on December 2, 2023 when he finished sixth by 11 lengths behind
Rough Entry in the Mouttet Mile. Prior to that, Mahogany was a winner of the Port Royal Sprint over 6 furlongs on November 11, 2023.
Mahogany always run good when fresh and so expect a strong effort from him here.
6. DESERT OF MALIBU (USA): (5 ch m by Malibu Moon – Lady Digger
) – Returned to winning ways in the Saint Cecelia Cup on March 23.
Desert of Malibu won the race easily by 2 ½ lengths in a time of 1:19.4.
Desert of Malibu has been training well for this race and given her capabilities, she is the one to beat here.
