Man beaten after attack on elderly doctor in Spanish Town
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – An 81-year-old medical doctor was reportedly attacked and cut in her face by a man said to be of unsound mind.
Reports are that the man entered the doctor’s office on Martin Street in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Monday and attacked her with a knife.
Information reaching Observer Online is that the incident happened around midday.
The doctor reportedly received a cut below the right eye. An alarm was raised, and the man was eventually held and beaten by residents.
He has since been hospitalised. His name has not yet been ascertained.
Another medical doctor reportedly treated the elderly physician for what is considered a small laceration.
The police say they were told of the incident and are trying to obtain a statement, but revealed that their efforts have reportedly proven futile.
