Treisha Williams sends message of hope
A 21-year veteran in education, Treisha Williams is totally dedicated to teaching, and she does it full time along with her gospel ministry.
Three weeks ago Williams released her most recent single You Are My Hope, a song which she says is intended to inspire.
“The song You Are My Help was inspired by me just wanting to share with persons that are going through various challenges that there is hope. I hope that listeners can take away the message that God is their help, and also that there is no limit to what we can achieve with God,” Williams disclosed in an interview with the Jamaica Observer on Friday.
Produced by Aldayne Green, You Are My Help was released on April 12 and, according to Williams, since its release her stocks have risen.
“The feedback has been great. I have been approached to do interviews both locally and abroad. Many people have said that this is my best song to date,” Williams shared.
As an artiste she is not new to the spotlight. Four years ago she won first place in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) Gospel Song Competition. She had entered the competition with the upbeat reggae praise song One Dose of the Holy Ghost.
Additionally, she won Cultural Gospel Song of the Year in 2022 from Praise Ministry. She was also nominated for Female Artiste of the Year, New Single of the Year, and Best Collaboration.
Williams was baptised at the age of 10.
“It has been an amazing journey, with hills and valleys, of course. But I know that the best decision one can make is to give their life to God. It moulds you and causes you to walk this path of life with good values and integrity,” Williams shared.
She is from the parish of St James and worships at Restoration of Love Ministry in Montego Bay.
“I am a past student of Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College and the International University of the Caribbean. I presently teach at the Montego Bay Infant School,” said Williams.
Since winning the JCDC Gospel Song Competition, Williams has been releasing music and has plans to release her début album.
“As a gospel artiste, what I bring to the table is creativity, great writing skill, as I have won numerous national writing awards. I also bring a unique sound, where I blend a poetic feel to the music. I am anointed, I sing with passion, and my intention is to heal the broken through my music and draw people to know Christ as their saviour,” Williams shared.
