Is That A Fact to stroll away with Reggae Trophy
Is That A Fact headlines a small field of six runners for the $2-million Reggae Trophy (GR1), a Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over 5 furlongs straight on tomorrow’s 10-race card.
The Jamaica Observer’s Supreme Racing Guide takes a close look at each runner and their winning chances.
1.A GIFT FROM BEN: (5 ch m by Here Comes Ben – Sage’s Giftbox) – Awarded first place in the Lady Geeta Trophy over 6 furlongs on April 13.
A Gift From Ben won’t have that same luxury here.
2.BOOTYLICIOUS: (4 b f by Key to Power – Keep The Faith) – Finished fourth behind Desert of Malibu in the Saint Cecelia Trophy over 6 ½ furlongs on March 23.
Bootylious won over this distance on March 2, clocking 58.4. If she can reproduce that effort, then Bootylious can make a bold bid here.
3.YELLOWSTONE: (5 ch g by Sensational Slam – Awry) – Talented runner who always runs well over the straight course. Yellowstone won at this distance on January 6, beating Rhythm Buzz and Laban in a smooth 59.2. From this handy mark,
Yellowstone should chase home the favourite here.
4.TAURUS BOY (USA): (6 b h by Speightster – MC Duffie) – Is going to be left behind in this one.
5.IS THAT A FACT (USA): (4 b c by Palace Malice – Valid Code) – Without a doubt, the horse to beat here.
Is That A Fact has raced four times this season, winning twice and beaten into second place twice by Horse of the Year Atomica.
Is That A Fact is a cut above these runners and should easily gallop away with this trophy race.
6.NEO STAR: (5 b h by Neolithic – Angel Dreams) – Has no chance of winning.
