All for Love favoured for Yvonne Mattis Cup
All for Love , who has been banging on the door at the Overnight Allowance level since graduating to this class, may finally glimpse the light in this afternoon’s second running of the $1.25-million Yvonne Mattis Cup feature.
All for Love has raced three times at this level, finishing third twice and second once. All for Love was third by 6½ lengths behind
Mamma Mia and Get A Pepsi at seven and a half furlongs (1,500m) on March 30. She was third by 4½ lengths behind Sonny T and Chippy and Sunset Silhoutte at nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) on April 13; and was second by 3¼ lengths behind Get A Pespi at six and a half furlongs (1,300m) on April 28 in the Temperence Oaks Trophy.
Bred by Nuclear Wayne out of the Traditional mare Princess Sallema, All for Love is going to appreciate this extended journey at nine furlongs (1,800m) in the Yvonne Mattis Cup, and she could go one better. Six-time champion jockey Omar Walker remains in the saddle for trainer Gary Subratie.
The inclusion of Sunset Silhoutte, Inspire Force, and Rainsville should keep the race interesting as they all have the capacity to contend for first place.
The Yvonne Mattis Cup is positioned as the 10th and final event on the card with a post time of 5:50 pm. First race is at high noon.
Sunset Silhoutte is a capable runner who has been running some good races of late. The fact that Sunset Silhoutte finished ahead of All for Love on April 13 over the circular course at nine furlongs and 25 yards augurs well for her chances here. Sunset Silhoutte should enjoy this trip and is yet again expected to do well.
After some dismal efforts four-year-old, American-bred colt Inspire Force ran an encouraging race when finishing in fourth place behind
Get A Pepsi, All For Love, and Justin Biden over six and a half furlongs. With the distance increased here Inspire Force could deliver the goods.
Rainsville was expected to figure at the races on last but the Richard Azan trainee finished a dismal fifth behind Sonny T and Chippy over nine furlongs and 25 yards. Rainsville is expected to run an improved race here.
