Dancehall artiste 450 and several of his dancehall colleagues delivered a memorable show to thousands of adoring fans at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre between Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

The event, which was a part of the headliner’s 2024 tour stops, was dubbed ‘450 Live in Kingston Concert’.

Although gates opened from as early as 7:00 pm on Saturday, performances didn’t get underway until exactly 1:43 am on Sunday with the self-proclaimed “Dancehall Cinderella” Ishawna, who thrilled with favourites like Equal Rights and Restraining Order.

To the patrons’ surprise, Ishawna invited social media sensation Debbie Burp onstage during her set, which caused excitement to erupt in the venue.

Ishawna’s performance was a fitting appetiser to the man of the moment. Popular selector Boom Boom announced 450 with the help of a live band at 2:13 am and the show maintained its momentum for exactly an hour, until it ended.

“As a youth weh dem tell seh couldn’t mek it inna music, sometimes yuh even start doubt yourself, and [I] never know I could pull a crowd like this and some people like this. Wi deh yah a do it,” the singer, whose real name is Tristen Escoffery, said as he addressed his supporters clad in a black suit.

He rendered many of his popular hits such as Gyal Thief, Wellness Bench, Wild n Rich, Roses, Lonely, and Journey.

There was even an accompanying skit for one of 450’s numbers featuring on-the-rise dancehall artiste 1Skimask. Some female fans were also fortunate enough to be recipients of cash that a generous 450 dispensed to those who were close enough to the stage.

The headliner’s set was undoubtedly a gift that kept on giving. He invited other guests to temporarily take the spotlight which earned scream after scream from the crowd. Among them were Vanessa Bling, Deno Crazy, Valiant, Bayka, Marcy Chin, and Aidonia.

The latter, who is a veteran in the industry, also took an opportunity to hail 450 for his mark in dancehall over the last few years.

“Unuh haffi respect him. Yuh see tonight, this name ‘Crown 450 and send him in the big league,’ ‘cause this wah happen nuh normal. This show that the people love you. This show that the people support you… This show that yuh a do good music,” Aidonia declared.

The artiste 450 made his debut in 2019, and has since been under the tutelage of the principal of the Tru Ambassador Ent label. The dancehall star took a turn to thank his manager for his support along the way.

“Inna real, real life, special thanks to my manager, my friend, my brother Tru Ambassador, Jahvy. If a never fi dem, mi wouldn’t deh yah suh tonight,” 450 said.

The show ended some time after 3:00 am.
