Bill payment error

Bill payment error

Dear Claudienne,

I need your help to sort out a situation with Flow (Cable & Wireless). Although I am no longer a customer of Flow, the company was still listed on the online payments for my Scotia account.

In error I clicked on C&W instead of Digi Play (Digicel) on January 26, 2024, but only realised my mistake when Digicel kept messaging me for payment.

I went to Scotiabank Knutsford Boulevard to try to get them to reverse the payment but the customer service rep at station 20 told me that to get the transaction reversed I would have to get a letter from C&W, as Scotiabank was not privy to the relationship between me and C&W.

However, when I went to C&W they told me that they “do not do letters.” and I was also unable to speak to a manager or a supervisor to get clarification on the matter.

I have been to the C&W office three times since the wrong payment, March 8, 2024, being the final time. All they can tell me is that there is an e-mail trail of my claim and it is being investigated. I don’t understand why money in their system is hard to find especially as they have confirmed that my account from years ago is closed and I do not owe them anything.

Attached is the transaction information of the money sent to Cable & Wireless in error that I am trying to get them to send back to my account.

Please help. Thank you.

SC

Dear SC

Tell Claudienne has been in communication with Flow in regard to your concerns. On April 24, Flow sent you the following message:

“Your refund of 8,793.50 for A/C 25610xxxx is now available for pick-up at select Bill Express locations. See https://bit.ly/3uvY5Zl. Govt-issued ID & (1/2).

However, you said that when you went to one of the “select” Bill Express locations on Friday, May 3, they told you that “no money was there” for you.

Tell Claudienne notes that the misunderstandings have been addressed and that you have now received the refund.

We wish you all the best.

Have a problem with a store, utility, a company? Telephone 876-936-9436 or Cell/Whatsapp #876-484-1349 or write to: Tell Claudienne c/o Sunday Finance, Jamaica Observer, 40-42 1/2 Beechwood Avenue, Kingston 5; or e-mail: edwardsc@jamaicaobserver.com. Please include a contact phone number.
