Leighton Gooden was once a vendor on the streets of Montego Bay, St James, but today, he is known in musical circles as dancehall artiste Teebone.

Teebone has been making waves over the past three years with songs, including Toyota Crown, 911, Baccarat, Laundry and Petrified, and Upstairs with fellow deejay Roze Don.

His latest musical project is the 10-track EP titled Soul on Fire, which was released on May 31 via Momentum Entertainment/Skeemsyde Entertainment.

Romario James, CEO of Momentum Entertainment, shared: “Working with Teebone can sometimes be a bit challenging, because he is opinionated. Otherwise, he is a very talented artiste. This EP was released to showcase Teebone’s versatility.

He continued: “I sent Teebone a couple rhythms to choose from and he liked all of them. So we ended up doing an EP, instead of doing one song.”

James is pleased with the finished product and says the feedback has been good.

“His fans have been showing their support on social media. The feedback was amazing. Right now, it’s all about promotion and keeping the project on the forefront,” said James.

Songs featured on Soul on Fire include Frozen with Pablo YG; You Dat featuring Gyptian; Celebration featuring Jahvillani; Man Made Scars featuring Jahshii; Magnificent featuring Renee 6:30, Chosen, Overnight Shift and Fraudulent.

Last year James scored a #1 hit with the song Bad Habbit which was recorded by red-hot newcomer RajahWild.

He said production was something he wanted to get into for a long time.

“I’ve always been a fan of music, and it’s something I’ve had a love for since growing up. I just decided that this is the path I wanted to take. With my label Momentum Entertainment, we are bringing new sounds and ideas to the game. The positivity that I bring, distinguishes my projects from others,” said James.
