Bounty Killer temporarily detained at Trinidad airport

Thanks Holness, Vaz for intervention

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall veteran Bounty Killer says he was temporarily detained at the Piarco International Airport in Trinidad on Friday.

In a social media post on Saturday, the artiste shared that after arriving in Trinidad, he faced significant delays and complications, being held at the airport for nine hours.

“Trinidad is a hard time dem try to give di Gad. Nine hours from last night dem have mi inna airport, refused my entry and all that. Pure things. But general a general di ting nuh normal,” Bounty Killer said in a post to Instagram.

He expressed gratitude to the Jamaican government, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Transport Minister Daryl Vaz, for their intervention and support. He also thanked the immigration officers at the airport, who he said worked tirelessly throughout the night to resolve the situation.

“Thanks to the Government of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, Daryl Vaz, all the immigration officers at Piarco Airport who stayed up all night to accommodate me, @johnnykbravoofficial, @bunjigarlin, @fayannlyons, @kweisidaniel, and all the rest of my Trini links. Bless up,” Bounty Killer said.

The artiste is scheduled to perform at an event tonight in Trinidad alongside Rygin King and Alkaline.
