JHTA Montego Bay Chapter Evening of Fine Caribbean Cuisines set for August 24

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Montego Bay Chapter of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) has announced the return of An Evening of Fine Caribbean Cuisines, its highly anticipated annual fundraiser to be staged on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Rose Hall Great House from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.

This year’s event promises a delightful culinary experience featuring exquisite Caribbean cuisines, wines, and spirits provided by leading hotels and tourism purveyors.

“Attendees can look forward to a night of indulgence and entertainment, with an estimated attendance of 450-500 patrons,” a release from the JHTA said.

Tickets for the event are now available at a cost of J$12,000 or US$80. This year’s sponsors include a host of esteemed companies and organisations such as Rose Hall Developments Limited, Royalton Resorts, Round Hill Hotel, Half Moon Resort, Riu Resorts, Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ), Playa Resorts (Jewel Grande, Hilton, Hyatt Resorts), Deja Resort, Rainforest Seafoods, Wisynco, Jamaica Broilers Limited, Kitchen 721, Pure Country Juices, SNL Tours, Tai Flora, John Swaby Productions, Triple Glar Lighting, Pace Showband, and Showjam Productions.

In addition to the culinary delights, guests will have the chance to win exciting gate prizes including a weekend for two at Sandals Resorts and a Chukka Caribbean Fun Adventure Tour.

Proceeds from last year’s event were dedicated to funding the chapter’s charitable initiatives which included support for the SOS Children’s Village in Barrett Town, St James, and the Christian School for the Deaf in Lethe, St James. Additionally, a portion of the funds was used to construct a playground for the Carthagena Basic School in Granville, St James.

This year, the chapter continues its support for these institutions in addition to a part of the proceeds going towards Hurricane Beryl Relief activities.

Principal of the Carthagena Basic School, Marcia Williams expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Montego Bay Chapter of the JHTA for their donation which contributed to “wonderful smiles on the students”.
