NEW YORK, United States — Transgender content creator Jools Lebron, who made the word ‘demure’ go viral across the internet, says she can now finance the rest of her transition due to her newfound success.

Lebron first posted a video captioned “How to be demure at work” on August 2, 2024 in which she said, “You see how I come to work? Very demure. I do my makeup. I lay my wig. I do a little braid. I flat iron my hair. I do chi chis out. I do vanilla. Very demure, very mindful. Let’s not forget to be demure divas.”

The video went viral on social media, triggering similar content from the creator around “how to be demure” in different scenarios. Her audios then became popular as others sought to participate in trend.

Lebron has since accumulated a following of 1.6 million followers on her TikTok account.

Now, not even a month later, Lebron says she can finance the rest of her gender transition.

In a heartfelt update on her TikTok account, Lebron said, “Maybe you should make the videos, because one day I was playing cashier and making videos on my break, and now I’m flying across country to host events and I’m gonna be able to finance the rest of my transition.”

Explaining what demure means to her, Lebron told People Magazine, “Demure is just a way of life for the girls, for the dolls like me…With that said, I would love to give nothing but admiration, flowers, and respect to all those divas who have been demure this entire time. Who have paved the way for a girl like me to thrive.”
