Winair signs new code-share agree with Air France

PHILIPSBURG, St Maarten (CMC) – Regional carrier Winair now has a new code-share agreement with Air France, expanding travel options between Europe and seven Caribbean destinations.

The partnership comes just weeks after Winair’s similar arrangement with KLM took effect in November.

Under the new agreement, announced on Thursday, Air France passengers can book single-ticket journeys to St Barth, Saba, St Eustatius, Antigua, St Kitts Nevis, and the British Virgin Islands through connections in St Maarten.

The arrangement allows for streamlined check-in, baggage handling, and boarding pass issuance at any Air France or Winair counter.

“This partnership with Air France enhances travel options for passengers, offering seamless connections between Europe and the Caribbean,” said Hans van de Velde, CEO of Winair.

“Travelers can now enjoy convenient same-day journeys with increased flexibility and peace of mind, knowing that Winair provides reliable service and a strong safety record.”

Van de Velde emphasized that the collaboration “underscores the confidence Air France places in Winair, solidifying our position as a vital link in regional travel.”

The code-share agreement means Air France will add their flight codes to Winair-operated routes, simplifying bookings and connections for passengers traveling between Europe and the Caribbean’s smaller destinations.
