25-y-o charged with murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 25-year-old man has been slapped with several charges including murder in relation to a February 9 shooting.
Charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony is 25-year-old Kemar Miller of Oakland Road, Kingston 11.
The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Barrington Campbell of Elgin Street, Denham Town, Kingston 14.
Reports from the Denham Town police are that about 4:50 pm, Campbell was sitting at his gate when he was allegedly attacked by Miller, who opened gunfire hitting Campbell multiple times all over his body before fleeing the scene.
Campbell was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation carried out by the lawmen later led to the arrest of Miller. He was subsequently charged with the offences on Wednesday.
His court date is being arranged.
