Rhythm Buzz set to muzzle the competition in World Vet Day Trophy
The World Vet Day Trophy, an Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over one mile (1,600m), is set to take centre stage on tomorrow’s nine-card at Caymanas Park.
Here’s an in-depth analysis of each runner and their chances of claiming the major share of the $1.25-million purse:
1. ANTARCTICA: (5 b h by Savoy Stomp – Jesse’s Favourite) – Lacking form, Antarctica’s prospects seem uncertain.
2. POWER FROM ABOVE: (5 ch m by Key to Power – Blufield) – With four losses this season, Power from Above’s chances appear slim. Note: Visor off.
3. SISTREN TREASURE (USA): (5 b m by Brethren – Katira) – Despite recent struggles, Sistren Treasure’s capability could shine through. Note: Visor on.
4. DIVINE FORCE (USA): (5 b h by Alternation – Dance America) – Running impressively lately, Divine Force might appreciate the distance and make a strong finish.
5. MR SENATOR: (3 rn h by Natural Selection – Khadiliah) – Consistently earning, Mr Senator could find himself in the money once again.
6. FURTHER AND BEYOND: (7 ch h by Blue Pepsi Lodge – Rumble) – After a lacklustre performance in the Ian Levy Cup where he finished down the track, Further and Beyond might step up here, especially since dropping in grade.
7. PERFECT BREW: (6 b g by Bern Identity – Moonlight Brew) – Has been training really well coming into this race. Perfect Brew is going to enjoy the conditions here and should make a bold bid for top honours.
8. KWAKU: (7 b h by Casual Trick – Darlin) – Kwaku’s chances of winning seem remote.
9. RHYTHM BUZZ: (5 b h by Buzz Nightmare – River Rhythm) – Came off a four-month break on April 6 to finish in sixth position over the 5-straight (1,000m) course. With that run her his girth and a more suitable distance,
Rhythm Buzz is poised for a winning run.
10. FEARLESS SOUL: (5 ch h by Soul Warrior – Rumble) – Finished a good third behind Mahogany and
Unbelievable Force on April 21. Fearless Soul is expected to perform well despite a quick return.
11. SONNY T AND CHIPPY: (6 b h by Savoy Stomp – Triniket Box) – A winner on last who is not expected to repeat.
12. SHEER DELIGHT (USA): (4 dk b c by Girvin – Pantyhouse) – Outdone by Fearless Force over 7 furlongs (1,400m) on April 12. Sheer Delight should run well here again and could be in the running for first place.
